CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) ? A former Charlotte resident believes she was swindled by a South Carolina moving company.
The 30-year-old hired Low Country Van Lines of Summerville, SC, to move nearly everything she owned from her north Charlotte home on Charminster Court to her new home in Kansas.
According to the police report, the company removed items from the woman's home on Friday, July 1, and they were supposed to deliver the items by Sunday, July 10.
We spoke with the woman on Tuesday, July 26, and she said she was still waiting for her items to show up.
She said the only thing she had with her was a suitcase of clothes, and her two dogs.
The woman said she paid the company to move several items including her bedroom set, laptop, digital camera, several bins of clothing, personal documents and childhood memorabilia. The value of the all the missing items is $19,991, the police report said.
We called Low Country Van Lines to seek reaction to the woman's claims, but the manager refused to talk and she hung up the phone.
