NONPROFITS
United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham's Gone for Good Program, along with the affiliate programs of three other UCP affiliates, was named Employer of the Year by the
National Institute for the Severely Handicapped during the UCP national conference. The program provides jobs to individuals with significant disabilities.
Aletheia House received a $300,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Labor for its Jobs for Vets program.
The National Association of Women in Construction Greater Birmingham Chapter delivered donations collected by their chapter to the Shelby County Humane Society. They collected various pet supplies, in addition to $100 dollars to use as needed.
